Jamie Thompson, Principal Petroleum Inspector, London Fire Brigade
Clare Scawthorn is a Petroleum Manager at London Fire Brigade, who heads up a team of inspectors working across London making sure the petroleum forecourt infrastructure is safe. Currently the deputy chair of the Petroleum Enforcement Liaison Group, Council Member for the APEA and represents London Fire Brigade at other national committees, including the National Fire Chiefs Council Petroleum & Explosives working group, to drive standards within petroleum and alternative fuels both within London and nationally.
Jamie Thompson served as Principal Petroleum Inspector for the London Fire Brigade with 38 years’ experience as a regulator specialising in petrol stations. He is currently Chairman of the European Standards Committee (CEN TC 393) dealing with Equipment for Service Stations, and also Chairs the underground and aboveground tank committee (TC265 WG8). He was editor of The APEA Bulletin for 23 years and served on the earlier HSE committees providing industry guidance. Jamie is a Fellow of the Energy Institute and also a Fellow of the APEA and a Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers.
